Keeping System Impacted Families Together

In the United States, one in every two persons has had an immediately family member incarcerated at some point.

2.7 million children (1 in 28) have a parent who is currently incarcerated. More than 10 million children in the U.S. have had a parent incarcerated at some point in their lives. Researchers believe these numbers are low due to the social stigma that makes families reluctant to report familial incarceration.

In a life of trauma and undeserved sadness, books can come to the rescue.

Our Book Project mails children books on behalf of their incarcerated loved ones. Our goal is to keep families connected.

Walls to Bridges aims to break the silence and address the trauma and emotional needs of system impacted families.
